A Selma 14 year old is dead and a 17 year old Selma teen has been arrested and charged with his killing in a shooting during the early morning hours Saturday.
Selma Police Lt. Ray Blanks said the department responded to a call of a shooting at 1:55 a.m. Feb. 15 in the 1400 block of Weaver Street where they found the victim dead. He said the victim was a 14 year old black male.
Around 12:20 p.m. Saturday, the Selma Police Department Criminal Investigation Division “arrested a black male juvenile age 17 in connection with the shooting.” Blanks said he is charge with murder and is being held at Perry County Detention Center under no bond pending a hearing.
Police said there is no known motive for the shooting at this time, but it is still under investigation.
