CLEVELAND, Ohio — Dozens of Northeast Ohio school districts have canceled classes for Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2025, because of concerns about extreme cold temperatures.
The National Weather Service is forecasting temperatures will be around 6 degrees at 6 a.m. Tuesday, but wind chills will make it feel like minus-7 degrees. Exposed skin is in danger of frostbite in such cold temperatures.
While it’s expected to be sunny Tuesday, highs will stay in the mid-teens and wind chills will make it feel much colder, according to the NWS.
Akron, Avon, Avon Lake, Berea, Elyria, North Olmsted, Parma and Westlake are among the districts that will not have classes on Tuesday.
