The Memphis Grizzlies will be missing two key players against the Atlanta Hawks on Monday night (7 p.m., FanDuel Sports Network).
Ja Morant (right shoulder soreness) and Santi Aldama (right calf soreness) are both out against the Hawks.
Morant is missing his second consecutive game due to a shoulder injury. Aldama was added to the injury report on Monday morning.
“I don’t think there’s any long term concern,” Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins said. “It’s just some day to day soreness that he’s been (and) not feeling comfortable with. How the arm is raising after taking a hit or two. Over the course of the last couple of weeks, he’s been playing through it. Obviously I think this is more of a short term situation.”
Aldama has played in 52 games this season. Morant, who has appeared in 37 games, hasn’t played more than five consecutive games at any point this season.
Memphis (38-22) is 24-13 when Morant plays and 14-9 when he is unavailable.
Desmond Bane, Luke Kennard and Scotty Pippen Jr. are among the players in line to get more playing time in Morant’s absence.
Aldama being out opens up a frontcourt spot or potentially more minutes for GG Jackson and Jay Huff.
